# Drag and Drop in PHOTON

## 1. Drag-and-Drop a Media onto the Timeline to Create a Media Clip

**OPEN THE TIMELINE MODULE**

Select {Show > Timeline} or press \[Alt+T].

1. Select the Video filter.
2. &#x20;Drag-and-drop a video file on a Layer to add it onto the Timeline.
3. (The Media Clip’s length will match the video file’s duration).
4. Navigate back to the File Manager module.
5. Select the Image filter.
6. Drag-and-drop an image file to add it on a Layer onto the Timeline.
7. (The Media Clip’s default length is defined in Settings > General > Timeline > Clip).

## 2. Drag-and-Drop a FX Graph onto the Timeline to Create an FX Graph Clip

1. Select an existing Graph or create a new one by clicking on the \[+] button.
2. Drag-and-drop an FX Graph to add it on a Layer onto the Timeline.
3. &#x20;(The FX Graph Clip’s default length is defined in Settings > General > Timeline > Clip).

1. Select the Input Devices tab.
2. Select an existing device from the list or create a new one using the \[+] button and select\
   it with the Available Devices dropdown menu.
3. &#x20;Drag-and-drop an Input Device to add it on a Layer onto the Timeline.
4. &#x20;(The Input Device Clip’s default length is defined in Settings > General > Timeline >\
   Clip).

Select {Show > Cue Editor} or press \[Alt+Q].

1. Select the Audio Devices tab.
2. Select an empty slot from the Active Devices list.
3. Select an audio interface from the Available Devices list to assign it as the Active Device.
4. Incoming audio timecode will be displayed in the Preview window if set correctly.
